LRC Committees

Facility / Arena - Dwain LeBouef, Chairperson

Members are to contact Dwain @ 985-637-0503 to request & reserve use of the arena.  


 A signed waiver must be on file with the LRC for ALL PARTICIPANTS  prior to entry/use of the arena.   

  • A waiver signed by a LRC MEMBER is good for the duration of the membership year beginning on their membership date. 
  •  A signed waiver by a NON-MEMBER is considered a DAY PERMIT and is only good for that  date.  Non-Members must sign a new waiver for each date they participate in an event/activity.   Non-member Fee: TBA 


A copy of the waiver may be printed from our Club Documents page.  Hard-copies will be available onsite.


Members reserving the arena will be responsible for collecting signed waivers and fees for their guests PRIOR TO USE and the condition of the grounds after use.  The arena must be dragged by a LRC-approved tractor driver and the grounds cleaned up after each use.  

Horse Shows - Tony Stein, Chairperson

Fun-filled competition in Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Texas Barrels, Arena Race, and a Stake Race.  

Divisions for all ages (as of January 1, current year):

  • Leadline:  ages 8 & under – Parents/responsible adults lead on foot their little horseback contestant through the obstacles of each event for a time. 
  • Peanut:  ages 8 & under
  • Pee-Wee: ages 9 to 13
  • Junior: ages 14 to 17 
  • Senior: ages 18 and up

  

Entry Fees per event:  $ 6.00/contestant/horse

Exhibitions:  $ 4.00/run - or - $ 10.00/3 runs

Pen Fee:      $ 5.00/rider

Non-member Fee:  TBA + Signed waiver (Day Permit) required


8-show series will be scheduled either on Saturdays or Sundays during Spring/early Summer.  The 2021 Spring Schedule to be published soon!  


Points are awarded to contestants who are LRC members based on results of each event. Points are cumulative throughout the series to determine champions. Members must participate in 5 of the 8 shows to be eligible for awards at the end of the series. 


All shows follow event rules as outlined in the American Quarter Horse Association Rulebook.


Barrels on the Bayou - Holly 'Scooter' LeBouef, Chairperson

Barrel Racing to be held the same day and will start following the Horse Shows for

  • Little Buckaroos: ages 8 and under / Entry fees: $ 10.00/contestant/horse
  • Open 5-D: Low-cost competition for our more advanced riders to help keep their horses running between larger events produced by other associations. 


Entry fees:   $ 25.00/contestant/horse. 

Exhibitions:  $   4.00/run - or - $ 10.00/3 runs

Pen Fee:      $   5.00/rider 

Non-member Fee:  TBA + Signed waiver (Day Permit) required

Flag Team - Hannah Adams, Chairperson

LRC's own coordinated and precision equestrian drill performance exhibiting horsemanship and teamwork to its rodeo audience.   


Flag Team practice is scheduled for Tuesday evenings.  Stay tuned for the 2021 Spring Schedule 

Barrel Racing and Pole Bending Practice - Tony Stein, Chairperson

Members can come to practice weekly.  


Non-Members:  Fee TBA + Signed waiver (Day Permit) required

Roping Practice - Quintin Rodrigue, Chairperson

Members can come to learn and hone their skill sets in Team Roping, Tie-down Calf Roping, and Breakaway Calf Roping.  


Non-Members:  Fee TBA + Signed waiver (Day Permit) required

Bucking Practice

Steer and Bull Riding practice is held on open weekends.  Participants range from beginners to contestants in the Miniature Bull Riders, International Miniature Bullriding Association, LA and MS High School Rodeo associations, college rodeo teams, and various amateur associations. 


Non-Members:  Fee TBA + Signed waiver (Day Permit) required  


Rodeo Committee - David Fournier, Chairperson

The 2021 Spring Rodeo is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, 2021

The 2021 Fall Rodeo is scheduled for Saturday, October  16, 2021

Each will be a Cajun Rodeo Association (CRA) sanctioned event.
