Arena Use
To request & reserve use of the arena, LRC members are to contact Jena Giroir @ 985-413-9918
ALL participants must sign LRC Release Form/Waiver/Day Permit BEFORE entering the arena. A copy of the LRC Release Form/Day Permit may be printed from our Club Documents page. Hard copies are also available onsite.
Members & Non-members must record their name & include phone number/contact info.
A parent/legal guardian's signature will be required for non-members under the age of 18.
Leave signed copy inside the document holder.
Members reserving the arena will be responsible for collecting signatures for ALL PARTICIPANTS PRIOR to use of the arena and the condition of the grounds after use. The arena must be dragged by approved tractor driver and the grounds cleaned up after each use. If you are not an approved tractor driver, please let Jena know.
ARENA RULES
1. Lafourche Roping Club is not responsible for loss or damage to a person, horse, vehicle, horse trailer, and/or any personal belongings while in transit to/from or while on the show grounds.
2. A current Coggins will be required for ALL horses on the LRC grounds. If a state inspection should occur, the owner/rider should have an original Coggins readily available to provide to the inspector.
3. No glass containers will be allowed on the LRC grounds at any time.
4. Please put your trash in the trash cans provided.
5. No outside food or ice chests will be allowed if the concession stand is open for business. Funds/donations collected from the concession stand or any refreshment stand during an event are allocated towards the end-of-the-year awards for that event.
6. No horses/stock will be allowed by the concession stand or within/behind spectator seating areas.
7. No alcohol is allowed inside the arena. The arena includes the alleyway and/or holding/back pens.
8. No one under the influence or perceived to be under the influence will be allowed to ride or enter the arena at any time.
9. LRC is a family-friendly environment therefore, unruly conduct, disruptive behavior, and/or foul language from a participant/contestant, worker, or spectator (member or not) will NOT be tolerated. LRC reserves the right to ask violators (those who choose to become unruly or disruptive) to leave. If necessary, violators will be escorted off the grounds immediately. Disciplinary actions will be decided by the Board.
Horse Shows
Fun-filled competition in Barrel Racing, Texas Barrels, Arena Race, Pole Bending (Peanut - Seniors only)
Divisions for all ages (as of January 1, current year):
- Leadline: Riders requiring assistance – Parents/responsible adults lead on foot their contestant through the obstacles of each event for a time.
- Peanut: Riders up to the age of 11 not requiring assistance
- Pee-Wee: ages 12 to 14
- Junior: ages 15 to 17
- Senior: ages 18 & older
Changes to this year's series...
- PAYOUT per event for all divisions except Leadline. Leadline contestants will receive their $ 2.00 payout/show at the Awards banquet.
- No NON-member fees. Non-members will be eligible for Day Money only; NO Points
- Eligible for Day Money + Points = LRC Members
- Points begin on membership date prior to the start of the show.
- Not a member? Not a problem! Persons 18 yrs & older can join LRC by completing a Membership Application and pay their dues at the time of entry prior to the start of the show.
Membership Dues:
$ 10.00 Single (must be 18 yrs or older)
$ 20.00 Family (incl spouse + children < 18 yrs old)
- Series Awards Card holder ($ 25/contestant) will be available for non-members who wish to be eligible for points but not as a club member. Must purchase by 3rd Show to be eligible for points and awards.
ALL participants must complete & sign LRC Entry Form at each event.

All contestants ride at own risk.
ALL MONIES WON MUST BE COLLECTED AT THE END OF THE SHOW. Uncollected winnings left with Show Secretaries will be Added Money for next show.

Jackpot 3D Poles & 5D Barrels
Jackpot dates & times will be on a TBA schedule posted on Lafourche Roping Club’s Facebook page.
Youth Classes: 10 years & under - or - riders with special needs or requiring assistance
Entry Fee: $ 10.00/rider/horse/show
Open 5D Classes: all ages - no assistance required
Entry Fee: $ 25.00/rider/horse/show
Barrel Exhibitions: $ 4/run - or - 3 runs/$ 10
All exhibition runs will be per rider/horse/show
3 runs/$ 10 may NOT be split between riders
Pen Fees: $ 5.00/rider/show including those riding Exhibition Only

Rodeo dates will be announced once facility renovations are complete.
Flag Team
LRC's own coordinated and precision equestrian drill performance exhibiting horsemanship and teamwork to its rodeo audience.

Bucking Practice
Steer and Bull Riding participants range from beginners to contestants in the Miniature Bull Riders, International Miniature Bullriding Association, LA and MS High School Rodeo associations, college rodeo teams, and various amateur associations.
