LRC Activities

Arena Use

To request & reserve use of the arena, LRC members should contact Jena Giroir @ 985-413-9918.  The member reserving the arena agrees to the terms and conditions outlined below:   


  Raceland Rodeo Arena/Facility Ground Rules

1.  The arena/grounds may be reserved by a Lafourche Roping Club (LRC) member on a first-come, first-served basis UNLESS needed for an event/function hosted by LRC, Lafourche Parish 4-H, or the Lafourche Parish Cattleman’s Association. In those instances, the reservation for each of these entities will override the calendar. 

2.  All participants (anyone entering the arena/back-pens/warm-up areas, whether on horseback or not, shall complete a Club Acknowledgement of Risk (Waiver) form prior to entering and using these areas or participating in events. This form can be found on the LRC website, LafourcheRopingClub.com. Hardcopies will be available onsite in a document holder located by the Concession Stand. 

         a.  Members reserving the arena will be responsible for collecting signatures for ALL PARTICIPANTS PRIOR to their use of the areas named.  It is the responsibility of the host, Arena Director, Committee Chair of the committee hosting an event, and/or the member of the guest to ensure that a form is completed prior to the use of these areas. 

                    i.  Members & Non-Members must legibly record their name, signature, & include    phone number/contact info. A parent/legal guardian's signature will be required for non-members under the age of 18.

           b.  Leave the completed copy in the document holder.  

3.   A current Coggins will be required for ALL horses on the grounds.  If a state inspection should occur, the owner/rider shall have original Coggins readily available to provide to the inspector.

4.   Signs citing the Louisiana Farm Animal R.S. 9:2795.1 and Equine R.S. 9:2795.3 Activity Liability Laws are posted around the facility.  All participants are under a “RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK” agreement while using the facility or on the grounds.

5.   LRC recommends that all riders wear a helmet. 

6.  Riders must provide their own tack/equipment.

7.  Only riding boots or riding shoes with a heel will be allowed for riding. 

8.  NO horses are allowed in the arena while the tractor is dragging or when workers are setting up for an event.

9.  Lafourche Roping Club is not responsible for loss or damage to a person, horse, vehicle, horse trailer, and/or any personal belongings while in transit to/from or while on the grounds.

10.  NO GLASS CONTAINERS will be allowed on the grounds at any time.  

11.  NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL, ICE CHEST, OR FOOD will be allowed when the Concession Stand is open for business. 

12.  NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED IN THE ARENA (which includes the back pens, warm-up pen, and/or announcer’s stand) AT ANY TIME. NO EXCEPTIONS.

13.  No one under the influence of or perceived to be under the influence will be allowed to ride or enter the arena/back-pens, or warm-up pen at any time.  

14.  No horses or livestock will be allowed by the Concession Stand, Announcer’s Stand, or within/behind spectator seating areas.

15.  To prevent the spread of disease, water troughs will not be provided/readily available. It is recommended that each participant bring their own bucket(s) for their animal(s).

16.  Access to the facility does not include access to the locked areas and/or restrooms. The outside restrooms accessible at the back of the Ag building will be available. These public restrooms are provided as a convenience. Clean up after use and dispose of trash.  Each restroom shall be left clean and tidy with consideration for the next user.  Report any maintenance issues to LRC’s Facility Rep so they may be addressed. 

17.  The Raceland Rodeo Arena and Ag grounds/facility is a family environment therefore, unruly conduct, disruptive behavior, and/or foul language from a participant, contestant, worker, or spectator (member or not) will NOT be tolerated.  Any entity utilizing these grounds reserves the right to ask violators (those who choose to become unruly or disruptive) to leave.  If necessary, violators may be escorted off the grounds immediately.  Disciplinary actions will be decided by the acting entity and/or LRC Board.

18.  MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF THEIR GUESTS and the condition of the facility upon their departure.

     a.  Clean up the areas used and put trash in the trash cans provided. Empty cans into the dumpster.  Keep the cement areas/driveways clear of any animal droppings.

     b.  Remove panels, barrels, and/or poles used in the arena. To prevent damage, barrels nor poles shall NOT be tossed/thrown over the arena fencing. Panels shall be returned to the location from where they were taken. 

    c.  The arena and warm-up pen must be dragged by an LRC-approved tractor driver. The grounds are to be cleaned up after each use. Notify LRC upon making your reservation or at your departure that the grounds need to be dragged.

    d.  Report any damages to the equipment/facility/grounds incurred/noticed during your allotted time slot.
